In limewire the results are sorted into various categories. One such category is type. If I select to download a movie under type mpg it plays perfectly. However I cannot play movies under type avi. What do i need to do to be able to play these movies?
Please help!

I assume you are using Windows media player 9 10 or 11. Go to www.download.com and download divx and it should play fine. Also you could try realplayer or winamp.

Movie content requires whats called a 'Codec' for your computer to decode and play it. MPEG codecs generally come with windows, which is why you already have them Various codecs will use the .AVI filetype. The most common would be DiVX or XViD, which you can download from the following places:

You are in need of a codec my friend. A codec is a "driver" for video files. There are different ways of encoding files and depending on the way they are encoded, you will need a codec or "driver" to play it.
Easiest thing to do is to download the Codec Pack all in One which has pretty much every codec you can imagine. Be careful installing it though, since one of the options is to change the Windows Media skin. Other than that, no flags should go up.

You might need to download the xvid driver for your player. Just go to yahoo and type "xvid" and run the file. Good luck my friend.

seek on google for FFSJ (its loose & small length ) installation it. open ffsj & opt for the 1st area (i.e, RakthaKanneeru1byfrank.avi.001) , then % output folder & then connect it , you will get a record named RakthaKanneeru1byfrank.avi , play it , rejoice with it :) P.S: use FFSJ for documents with .001 or _a
