yes. she could have even been pregnant before her period because it IS possible to have periods while being pregnant. it's happend to many women that i know. the smell to the discharge could also mean there is a bacterial infection. discharge is normal during pregnancy because changing hormones and increased blood circulation in the vaginal area can cause a discharge called leukorrhea. this runny, whitish substance shouldn't have an offensive odor though, even to a pregnancy-sensitized nose. there is really nothing to do to reduce this fluid, and they wouldn't want to anyway. the discharge is the body's way of flushing out bacteria to keep the woman and her baby healthy. if it keeps having a fishy smell then she should go to the doctor to get a culture done.

Usually a woman cannot find out that she is pregnant until 4 weeks after her last period. It usually takes that long for the pregnancy hormone to register on blood or urine tests. Either she was incorrect about the date of her last period, or she had an incomplete period (spotting), and was already already pregnant during that last "period".

I'm not real clear on your question, however, both things are possible and normal...

fishy discharge can be a normal "side effect" of pregnancy.

it is possible to have a regular period - or two - when you are pregnant. It's rare, but it can happen.

well, all females can get pregnant (for the most part) at any time of the month. this is normal. the best way to prevent getting pregnant is to use a condom- also helps to prevent STD's

it sounds like the "fishy discharge" is an std signal- she should see a dr

I'm not too clear on the question, but fishy discharge is common in early pregnancy.

For most women, conception occurs mid-cycle, but you can get pregnant any time, even during your period.

What are you talking about? Can what really happen? You need to rewrite your question, I don't think anyone will understand what you mean.

You're saying you know someone who this happened to and asking us if this can really happen? And you know someone it has happened to? And you want to know if it can really happen?

You really need an answer to this??

It can. I had it. Pregnancy and the involved hormones do change a woman's body.
