We're a small business who is looking to purchase a new wireless router because our old one is giving us headaches. Does anyone have any recommendations? We are an Internet-based business so speed is very important, but we don't want something too expensive.

Thanks in advance.

The previous posts mentioned Cisco. Yes a good high end choice. But your business is small and your not looking for a consumer class router.

I have been using a product from Watchguard Technologies for my small business (smb's) customers. Its not over kill. Its also from a true Firewall company, not like those Dlinks, netgears etc.. who think NAT makes it a good firewall.

Another company in the small business range is Sonic. They also have some good router/firewall(wireless) options.

As far as speed is concerned, there hasn't been any complaints. As a matter of fact, after I switch most of them to one of these two products, the only thing they noticed was that the wireless wasn't crashing any longer.

I hope this helps, good luck

Cisco is pricey and maybe overkill? But if you all need vpn the Pix 501 at about 500 bucks would be great. Actually it is not technically a router but it performs routing tasks. If you do not need vpn. Netgear all the way for simplicity. Actually they have a vpn device that cost a little more and I heard that it was great but I never set one up. I have probably set up all of the other devices and I prefer Netgear.

As Paultech said Cisco is the better router for any Business although they might be a little expensive i highly recommend a Cisco.

Take a look at the Cisco website for some information :) http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/index.html

Take at this page http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps380/index.html it is a video introducing some of the Cisco Routers :)

Cisco routers, Link Sys, or D link all offer great Wireless routers.

Just depends what brand you prefer. They pretty much do the same exact thing.

I use a D link Switch for my small workgroup here at my house and it works great.

I would suggest D-Link AirPlus Xtreme GTM. See a picture and review at
