I used to love the books and the films. The books are still good, but the films...
First one was okay, second was good. Third was the biggest load of codswallop I've ever seen (and I watched Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!). I refuse to go near the fourth on the basis that I like it too much to watch it be killed, however good an actor the kid playing Ron is and however funny the twins are. I will not be going anywhere near a cinema when the fifth comes out.
I really hate all the hype. I hate what it's done to them. I'll be getting the last book, but only because I can't leave a series I've been reading for eight, nearly nine years unfinished. And I'm actually hoping Harry dies at the end, just to make sure there'll be no more. It'd be a nice change from the usual happy ending to books like these anyway.

I absolutely love the books. 6>5>4>1>3>2 IMO.
The first two movies were good, but they were a little juvenile for me, though I suppose this did follow with the books. The third movie was amazing, even though a lot of the plot was rewritten. The fourth movie was the best of the lot so far in terms of plot and other cinematographic structure.
I don't like the thinking that HP is just for kids, especially once you get into the later books because there are a lot of mysteries to clear up, themes to draw, and violence to witness. Though I would not say they are the best books of all time, I do think you can read so much into these books to fine intricate patterns and relationships that are usually missed during the first pass of reading.

I'm 40 years old, and just can't get enough of the books and movies. J.K. Rowling paints such a vivid picture of not only the characters, but the setting really comes to life as well as the whole cultural surroundings and settings.
Can't wait for the next book and Phoenix movie to come out

Absolutely Love em,
Its amazing because I hate Harry Potter at the beginning (I haven't read any book by then). My sister was a big fan, and she had Book 2 and 3 at that time. One day I read few chapters, it was good, then keep on reading. When I finish reading, I was a huge fan. I think JK's fictional ability is amazing. And I hate HP movies because they are not that great. (Except first and second movie)
Sometimes I couldn't stop reading... (specially 4-5- and 6th books)

Love 'em!!! I've watched all the movies and am currently reading the books. I can't wait for the next movie to come out though!! When they first came out I didn't think they would be interesting. One weekend they were playing all the movies and there was nothing else on tv so I thought I would check them out and I loved them!!! I went out and bought all the dvds and continue to watch them over and over!!

I love the Harry Potter series, but I prefer the books to the film, more in depth. But, what really bugs me is what they changed directors for the second movie. I personally preferred the old director, he gave it the dark ages feel in a modern society.

Love Them! My husband thinks its weird that I wanna watch the movies all the time. I wish they could include more of the books in the movies, like Winky and the way that Crouch Jr escaped from Azkaban, and more about the dating (its so funny). My favorite book is The Half Blood Prince, I just htink they keep getting better and better
