I just saw on the news that a women died trying to win a Nintendo Wii for her children. The radio people stated that they signed a release form and therefore responsible for their own health. However, they were extremely irresponsible by ignoring the dangerous health risk involved, I believe they weren't qualified to do such a show when they didn't consult a doctor or health specialist.

At the least I believe they should give her kids a freakin Wii!!! I mean, their mother did die trying to get them one. People are so cruel these days.

Forgot to mention that the contest was who could drink the most water. Strange how you can die from drinking too much water huh?

First of all hosting such a contest publically does leave a certain amount of responsiblity on the host itself. You can't just host a contest of any sort and not consult with health specialist.

They should have had doctors on call or have throughly inspected the contestants after the contest. They have a certain liability after all, they are hosting a PUBLIC contest.

Possibile death I believe was not listed as a possible effect on the release forms. I think a lawsuit is needed, if not for the family, but for a message to all radio stations or small time business/people that try to conduct contest that don't have proper knowledge of the possible effects.

Yes I read that and it is very sad. I hope that radio station gets held responsible for her death. I was talking to people at work about this and they had no idea you could die from drinking too much water... they seemed kind of skeptical. I informed them they were wrong, but I believe that these contestants had the same mind set my coworkers did. I'm sure they thought that drinking alot of water could not harm you.
So all you guys out there trying to chug water to pass your piss tests take note. IT can be very dangerous!!!!

It's very sad and tragic that the woman died, but I don't believe the radio station should be held responsible. The woman made a choice to do this and should've realized that this is a health risk. I do think the kids should get a wii, though.

The Show was in Sacramento. It was called "hold your wee for a Wii". She didnt die because she drank too much water, she probably died from holding it in too long (results in bladder bursts, urine toxin..etc.)

I knew nothing good could come of the wii. The wii is evil. It's the devil's console. PS3 and X-Box 360 is the best choice.

Guess what, they will try and save less than $300 rather than give it to a group of orphans. The world is so f***in' cruel

You can die for drinking too much water? Why didn't she just buy one? I've never seen that in my life!

She died because she held her "water" the longest. Too much water dilutes the system.
