This is for an essay I'm writing, and I read a BBC article written in 2001, saying that the government were thinking about creating more church schools. I was wondering if they went ahead with it or not. Thanks

Heard something on radio 4 the other day with reference to the government building new schools. Not mentioned wether they were church schools or not though. The program was the Learning Curve.
"Building Schools for the Future (BSF), the government's extensive school rebuilding scheme, was launched two years ago as the largest investment project in schools since Victorian times. With a budget of £45bn over fifteen years, the stated aim of BSF is to rebuild or renew every secondary school in England over a 10-15 year period, in order to provide "flexible, inclusive, attractive learning environments that teachers want to teach in and pupils want to learn in." However, amid fears that money is being wasted on bad designs and undue processual complications, today sees the launch of the British Council for School Environments (BCSE). The BCSE will act as a forum for exchange, dialogue and advocacy, aiming to ensure that communities get the best out of this massive programme. Talking to Libby today is Peter Clegg, senior partner at Feilden Clegg Bradley Architects , who has 25 years experience as an architect, and Allan Jarvis, Deputy Head from Buttershaw School in Bradford ."
