last night at the end of Rep Sheila Jackson Lees (D) rant on the House floor she says "we need to begin our redeployment and bring all our soldiers home" why must they continue to play this rhetoric game?

I share your frustration!

If they think "withdrawal" is the right thing to do, then they should use their power to bring it about.

Why don't they?

Maybe they are afraid of being "slimed" by the Republicans, but the public has already voted against "stay the course."

Maybe the Democrats don't actually think we should leave immediately, but can't upset their base . . .

:)

Do you mean call it as you are want to say, cut and run? I'll call it cut and run or anything else you may think is derogatory as long as it brings the troops home. Any name is better than the reality of the situation, which is stay and die for no good reason other than the President in his dream world thinks he can bring democracy to a region that can't stand their own neighbors. While we are at calling things the way they really are, let's call his Iraq policy what it is, a failure.

It seems you place entirety to the phrase "BEGIN our deployment, I don't see that as meaning pulling everyone out immediately, but rather instigating a strategy for the eventual withdrawal ,considering the difficulties, and trying to prevent as many casualties as possible, while still appearing to be in control of the situation at hand, it's merely step one of many for the full extraction of all forces, other than those required for training. We've got to start somewhere.these guys can't stay there indefinitely,as bad as some would like to see it

So why does wanting to bring the troops home seem rhetorical? Call me crazy but it sounds more like a sincere plea.
