The mainstream political spectrum is not a catch all definitive line like a numbers line. For instance totalitarianism and democracy are arguably traits that can be attributed to any ideology. The same applies to Monarchy, military junta, dictatorship and theocracy. Socialism in mainstream discourse refers only to economic polices. For instance Hitler and Mussolini were elected i.e. democracy, they held absolute power i.e. dictatorship, and believed in private property with unified purpose i.e. fascism. Of course keep in mind that these terms are interpreted differently by everybody so there is considerable leeway on their place in a supposed spectrum.
