I had my hair colored and highlighted about a month ago (25 weeks right now) My hairdresser and Doctor both said that the chemicals they use are harmless in such small doses. I was a little paranoid so I brought a small fan to keep the fumes away from my face. Just went to the Doctor yesterday and baby is still very healthy.

Go out and get your hair done girl, all the work your body is doing you deserve to look your best!! Congrats!

I heard that it's OK, but I personally haven't. It's actually safer to highlight your hair than to completely dye it because when you highlight, not as much dye gets absorbed into the scalp. You should be in a well ventilated area as well. You don't want to be breathing in too many fumes.

Even though I've read, been told by friends and my OB that hair dying is ok, I still don't want to take chances. I'm just paranoid that way.

There are many conflicting studies on this. I personally never dyed my hair during pregnancy but many of my friends did. I guess the best thing is wait until you are in the later half of your second trimester because by this time most of the development of organs has taken place.

My dr stated its high-quality, she recommended to attend till the 2d trimester yet wasn't too strict on that. She stated an same concern, have an exhaust fan on and open any living house windows and doorways. in my opinion i'd not bleach my hair to the quantity of going brown to platinum or something yet it truly is in basic terms because of the fumes i might want to be inhaling, peroxide is tremendously finished on yet I dyed mine some cases only a gloomy brown one. i tried semi everlasting and by no ability something a lot got here about lol it went a terrible purple shade, in basic terms save that in ideas even as your colouring, it would want to no longer bypass the right shade lol, it would not take position to all and diverse. bypass for it regardless of the reality that, you're into your 2d trimester, there's no longer a surprising number of chemical utilized in maximum hair dyes its likely safer than cleansing your bathing room.

I've had my hair totally dyed, then dyed again, then shaded and now highlighted. My doctor told me there is nothing wrong with this, you just need to make sure you protect your face.
I'm 25 weeks now and there has been no problems.

Coloring your hair is perfected safe. Inhaling the chemicals is what is bad for you and the baby. The only people at risk of this are professional colorist, and even then the risk is slim.

My hairstylest was pregnant not too long ago and I ask what her dr. said about her being around the chemical. The dr. joked as long as you don't eat it your fine and it safe to get highlights.

It was also on the back of the fact book that my ob just gave me.

i heard you shouldn't cause of your hormone changes, it could have a adverse reaction and say turn your hair green or something.
my doctor said it was ok, just as long as i didn't eat it or do it in a closet with no air circulation so i did and my baby is now 10 months old and perfect!
