You can do anything you want, really. Purples are bound to look good, but I've also seen women with your complexion and haircolor go for deep raspberry colors and look great. You could also go for nice, warm reds or metallic coppers. If you're feeling very daring, try a light eyeliner color, like silver or white, which looks especially good with cooler colors like berries and plums.
I'd also suggest getting a mary kay makeover done- they've got some really gorgeous looks for darker skinned women. Failing that, I know there are some makeup counters who can help you out there, too.

Dark Purple..Black and lavender..sounds bad..but your darker eyes and med skin tone will hold these colors well. Your about the same coloring as me..I am Italian...use one of the three color sets from Loreal or Revlon...medium color on lid, darker in the crease and light on brow...then take either a darker purple or black...and add a wedge to the corner of each eye...and to make your eyes look wider..deepen the crease with a thin dust of color to darken and deepen it. Works great for me...Take Care

Yes, as said above! Violets and purple tones works well for me too and I have the same skin tones as you. I use bronze/natural colors on my cheeks and a deep purple color by lancome on my eyes along with a shimmer brown in the crease above the purple. It really brings out my brown eyes...

try some green eye shadow sometimes, but dont make it look clowny. try some black eyeliner or play up your lips with some pretty lip gloss. its probably just in your mind that youre plain though. and even if u are, its better to be plain than ugly

If you are afraid of color, try eyeliners. Start off with a deep hunter (green), navy, or plum. Then move into metalics, or lighter colors. They will prepare you for colorful shadows.
