I already had to conquer my fear to survive a life or death situation. I was camping with my fiance and it was the day we were going to leave. I packed up some things and began the hike to the car while my fiance finished packing up camp. I heard a noise in the bushes and out of the corner of my eye I saw a mountain lion. I froze, terrified. I tried to remember what the park ranger had said to do if you see a mountain lion. Don't run was the most important thing. I wanted to run so badly, I was so scared. I figured the lion would just look at me and leave, as that is usually the case. Instead it began moving closer. I kicked into survival mode and began waving my arms high above my head and screaming and stomping my feet. My fiance heard me screaming and came running with a giant stick. The lion ran away. I have always been afraid of animals in the woods, I flinch at every sound in the bushes. That day though I just kicked into survival mode.

I think any fear can be conquered by a greater fear. An example would be, let's say you had a fear of heights. If something or someone you truly cherished was in danger some place high, it would probably be possible for you to conquer your fear of highests because of your greater fear of losing that which you love.

I really don't have any fears, but if I did, and I was in a life or death situation, I would conquer them in an instant. One thing that does freak me out is eating live bugs, but I think I could if my life depended on it.

Yes! Even tho I may feel it in an over whelming way. Yes kick it's butt! I was diagnosed with breast and liver cancer at the first of last year. 2006. I had 10 tumors in my liver and a large tumor in my left breast. My husband stood with me in prayer. Especially when I felt the waves of fear rush over me. That feeling was awful. When I first heard the news it was like the doctors were talking about somebody esle. But no it was ME. Me my hide they wanted to cut off. My breast they wanted to remove. My body they wanted to slice and dice. I'm so glad I had studied the Bible with my husband for a year or so prior to that news. I've had to have no surgery. The tumors are gone. It's because of the name of Jesus. He whipped fear years ago. It was just up to me to get ahold of how wonderful He is. It was up to me to get a hold of how much I needed Him. Yes! Over come the fear. Because if it would not have been one thing fear could freak you out, it would be another. Most accidents happen when people are afraid. Fear causes a lot of problems. Yes, do it. The Bible is a great source to read so your ready when the time comes.

I guess I would have no choice.

I fear many things so I guess it would depend on what I was confronted with.

I used to have a horrible fear of spiders and had no choice but confront it when I lived with my inlaws in their homemade log cabin which was full of spiders. I know that isn't life or death but I overcame that fear so I know I could at least try to overcome other fears, especially when faced with death.

fear=heights

i signed up for a wilderness course. i'm from california and the course was in colorado. i seriously thought this course was for water rafting. i had my swim gear and equipment and everything!! i was ready to go out to rivers and stuff.. well turns out, once i get there... that it is a MOUNTAIN CLIMBING course. I realized I had that as one of my back up choices of something... and well turns out I flew to colorado and completed a three week course on mountain climbing!!! It was scary at first... but I did it and so I SURVIVED!!

I am thinking, that if I can survive not showering for three weeks... climbing tall mountains, hanging on mountains for hours at a time, overcoming many obstacles while on that trip, then I can most definitely conquer any other fears of mine. Thanks for asking and bringing back good memories.

My fear is lightning. I'm at a loss as to how to conquer that.
I've tried and tried but I'm still scared of being fried.

Not dying is a pretty strong motivator. I guess an example would be if I were in a room that was closing in on itself (like Star Wars or Temple of Doom) and the only way out was to run barefoot over a carpet of tarantulas, cobras, black widows, and red-hot coals, I guess I would give it a shot. Is that the sort of thing you mean?

I dont know Ive thought about this alot, it doesnt help that Iam not all that afraid to die. So I guess it would depend on the situation and what I had to leave behind (like now I have a little boy, but if he was grown that might make a difference.)
