Right there with them!

I currently have two friends needing my participation at the moment. One woman has hurt her foot and is not able to walk her grandson back and forth to school. I volunteered to do this until she is better, since I do the walk daily anyway with my three grandsons. It has been going on for two weeks now, and will probably last for the rest of the winter. The only thing that bothers me is the daughter keeps on trying to offer me money.

I also have a friend close by that has just lost her husband. They were together for over 50 years. She is feeling, very understandably, lost right now. I go over just to talk with her or keep her company. Yesterday, I was able to give her advice about some GIC's that were under the husband's name at their bank.

It doesn't bother me to be there for my friends. Actually, it feels nice to know that I can help make their lives easier in some small way. Isn't this what "humanity" is all about?
