They have been encouraged to do this by BushOilCo. Whenever you hear words like you are either with us or against us coming from the lips of the President, you know there is going to be violence in the land.

To be fair, not all republicans are insulting. It's usually just the stupid and narrow-minded followers of both parties that make all the noise. Democrats can be insulting too. And honestly, are there really any thinking people in the United states who are 100% dem or rep? The key word in that question was "thinking". On the whole, I'd have to describe myself as liberal but I still have some very strong conservative leanings. And, like the op, I vote for the person who best represents my own personal beliefs and have never voted for someone just because they were a member of this or that party. Being insulting is always easier than thinking.

I agree that many conservatives are insulting and tag liberals with nasty names. That said, we shouldn't do the same-there are a few coming out against Bush and questioning many of his policies. John Dean, Pat Robertson, Chuck Hagel, Arnold, all have voiced opposition to his policies. I googled and found Republicans against Bush-just one website among many! Let's not stoop to their level, ignore the ones that yell and don't think.

Because they angry and filled with hate for people not like them.
My Father is an angry republican. He had some absolutley horrible rules to live by nstalled on him by his church and familoy that make him absolutley misreable. He thinks anyone who doesn't follow those same rules should have to suffer even more than him.
Also the ones that aren't gulliable know the republican party agenda and are still okay with it. That makes them evil (look at the definition of evil, certianly someone who encourages the deaths of tens of thousands of people for a gain of profit and power are evil right?), evil people usually aren't nice.

Because they can only attack and assassinate character, real facts actually elude them e.g. all of Fox news, Rush Limbaugh, the guy with the bow tie who got thrown off dancing with the stars, Robert Novak, most of the ex Nixon now Bush administration.
