I think it's actually a very, very clever marketing ploy on behalf of John Brown.

I say this because I did a search on "ghetto revival" and found a MySpace page: www.myspace.com/ghettorevival This is John Brown's RAP GROUP and they are actually kinda okay...I mean, Mr. Brown is no amateur, anyway. They sound...passable. And the MySpace page was created around last June, 2006 (probably when the show was filming)...and I'm sure the group's been around for at least awhile longer than the MySpace page has been around.

Sooooooooo...I think he's being very weird on purpose, spouting out "King of the 'Burbs" (his self-proclaimed nickname on the band's MySpace site) and "Ghetto Revival", acting all weird. Look at it...the whole viewing audience is already talking about it...there is a Yahoo! question thread about it (and this is not the only one, by far). So what happens when everyone finds out that there is a group called "Ghetto Revival"?

They're going to listen to the group, most likely.

His strange actions with a strange trademark phrase is getting his group's name out there...making it a household word. I just don't think MC Serch would take kindly to that unless he already knew that Brown had his own group to begin with...but he doesn't seem to have a clue about "Ghetto Revival" anymore than anyone else does at this point (two shows into it all).

Maybe MC Serch finds out later and does something about it, maybe not...but the fact remains: we already know his group's name thanks to John Brown's cryptic (and annoying as hell) advertisments ;)

Girl, I've been thinking that same damn thing. Most normal folks are trying to escape the Ghetto and this fool who calls himself "King of the Burbs" is trying to revive it? What is trying to make the poor poorer so they can stay there? He's a damn fool and embarrasses himself every time he says that crap!

Why would they want to revive a ghetto?
That sounds kind of useless.
