I am going off to college next year and want to take my parents on a vacation before I go. They are both in their mid-60s and enjoy less strenuous activities like going to movies, eating out, and sight-seeing. Are there any beautiful vacation spots where I will be able to find fun things for them to do that do not take a heavy toll on them physically? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Las Vegas offers pleasant weather almost year round and tons of things to see and do. Your parents could go to a show or two, eat at some nice restaurants and tour around the city and see the sights. The city is not just for gamblers anymore.

I highly recommend the Cirque du Soleil's KA at MGM Grand - it was really great. Las Vegas is also close to the Grand Canyon, Death Valley and the Hoover Dam.

Orcas Island, WA is a beautiful vacation spot accessible by ferry from Anacortes, WA. This beautiful island enjoys relatively pleasant weather most of the year. There are many choices of activities from simply strolling the shore and/or whale watching to exploring the delightful shops of Orcas' primary village, Eastsound. And, there are many adventurous activities as well should anyone feel up to a little kayaking or such. This is a vacation your parents will never forget. Try Orcas.

Maybe Savannah, GA, St. Augustine, FL., Charleston, S.C. My parents have enjoyed all of these places. They are lots of fun, have tons of food options, and with all of the history the sightseeing is great. In Savannah and St. Augustine you just hop a little sightseeing train and you can get on and off all day at different stops so you can minimize your walking. Good luck and have fun!
