Improvements in farming meant that not every single person had to work all day just to have food. It freed people up to do other things, develop other skills. More people could live in cities because the same farm land could support more people--with less work. Improvements in farming have made all the technology we use possible--art, music, technology, the leisure industry--none of these can be developed if everyone is out hoeing all day.

More chemicals and pesticides in our food supply than our bodies can handle, food that has less nutrients due the the depletion of nutrients in over used soil. Plus foods that have been stripped of their nutrients due to the processing of the foods.
