America or Islam? Who's gonna win? Who you want to win?

Hmmm, well, America is a country and Islam is a religion.

In your question, or in your opinion, is "America" synonymous with "Christianity"? If yes you should know that Christianity & Islam are not actually so very different. Both are monotheistic religions, and believe in the same God. Allah is, after all, just the Arabic word for "God." Muslims believe in the God of their prophet Muhammed, who was the God of many prophets: Abraham, Moses, Jesus, etc. For that matter, Judaism is also a monotheistic religion worshipping the same exact God. Moses was their favorite prophet.

Or in your question is "Islam" synonomous with the Arab world? Or is it synonmous with terrorism? America vs. terrorism is a very real battle that we Americans are reminded of daily by our government and media. I personally do not identify Islam with terrorism. The only muslims I have ever known have been lovely people, kind, considerate, and far less abrasive in personality than many Christians that I know!

I'd also like to point out that Islamic-Extremists do not have a monopoly on terror. Remember Ted Kaczinski (the Unabomber) and Timothy McVey (who bombed the Oklahoma City government building)? They were white, American (and presumably Christian) terrorists.

So who do I want to win?! Neither! or Both!! America just needs to mind our own business, and quit trying to spread capitalism & democracy like it's our divine authority! And Americans need to stop thinking that "Christianity" is our state religion and accept that others have the right to their own beliefs. Then perhaps we all will win.

I have given this some thought. This war is between two ideologies. Not because one or the other is being repressed. Both sides have volunteer armies that are highly motivated & beleive in their cause. Islam beleives that their relgion should reign supreme & everyone should convert or die. America flys in the face of Islams believes & further antagonises Islam by its open culture that threatens the religious leaders control of its followers. America has the military power to wipe out Islam. However, Amerca is reluctant to use all of its power to achieve victory. Islam is willing to use what ever power it takes to win. Therefore it is my believe that unless America desides to use all of its power to win eventually they will surely lose & Islam will win. If we all could exept each other we all would win. Unforgenantly I don't think Islam is going to exept America not being Islam & who knows how much America can take of Islam blowing America up.

to be honest i wish neither one wins. i wish that they would both stop fighting and take their loses as is. realistically no one likes to lose and that's why they continue to engage in war. someone always wants to be the "winner" it's built into american society and many other societies as well that winning is important, hence the reason you posted this question. i can't help but feel that both will lose. so many lives have already been lost, i think no one will win. i don't want either side to win because winning and victory would make killing sensible and that is horribly ignorant. i know many americans who just want our family and friends to come home safe, and that's all that is important. but our president won't back down and that makes me sad because it means more lives will be lost.

The only way to win is if we all win. If it comes down to us vs them we have way more to lose in our hi tech society. They can shut us down much more easily. And, do you want to live in a world where you have to destroy the other half of the world? I don't think that would be a world worth living in. We all need to see that we are all in this together and work to finding out how we can do that successfully and in peace.

300 million Americans with 10,000 nukes vs 1.2 billion Muslims (only about 100 million fanatics though) with 0 nukes.

I'm going to have to go with America on this one. I hope it never comes down to nukes, but if it does, then I'm glad I'm on the right side.
