I know that the official statement isn't supposed to be until later this afternoon, but on every news page i've been on, it's been decided to move the time from seven minutes to midnight to five minutes to midnight. What do you think? Personally, I was surprised that it was only a two minute change.

I think the Doomsday Clock originated as a political statement, and it is still a political statement.

I'm not surprised, if they had said 1 minute till doomsday, the people may have gone wild. I believe the rapture could be any time and the great tribulation immediately following, but not a total end of the world.

The people that are part of the doomsday clock understand that the neo-scum pushing for more wars in the middle east are going to start a major war for oil resources in the region between the USA, russia and china. As we see russia and china supporting iran, an attack on iran from america could cause a nuclear war.

Makes some sense. As to the only 2 minutes look at the length of time they use. 2 minutes is actually a decent amount. They factor in alot each year. So not a whole lot may have changed as to moving it here. I mean maybe it changed but other stuff got better. I mean alot of our fear is still more fear then something we are sure of.

It's funny because you won't live to see midnight. That's when everything is doomed...theoretically. I wouldn't loose sleep over it. Remember Y2k when so many people moved to the mountains because doomsday was going to happen on year 2000? I bet they all felt kind of stupid after midnight.

Wow, this is a hot topic today. It doesn't really mean anything. I don't' fall for scare tactics. What is really surprising is how many people never heard about the clock.

I think that god has a specific plan for each and everyone of us and if its his will for us to go to heaven then thats just it.And I`m still shocked of how CHRIST has anything to do with when mayan civilization ends and how the world is compared to that. But I`m not in fear at all.....

They should set it at one second to midnight. Any second now...

If you are going to be a half-baked, nutter alarmist, might as well be the best.

Of course, when the end comes, the pinheads with the clock will not be more aware than anyone else.

Do we really need a clock to tell us that we're all going to hell on a slip-n-slide? All you have to do is watch the weather channel...
