My 'big sister' has a baby who is a little younger than my brother, and the father I have had yet to see, and it made these questions pop into my head today.
Why do guys tend to bail out when it comes to take their kids, if they are like 15-18 or any age for that matter?
Are kids a sense of pride for them?
Or are they just not ready for the responiblity?

If you're not ready for the consequences, don't have sex. If you don't want her to get pregnant, talk about birth control, there are options for both man and women and the women don't have to be the only one being responsible.
If you can't handle the responsibility of a sexual relationship don't have sex at all.

Anyone that is 15 or 16 etc... usually isn't ready for a child, even the mother. But having a child inside of you usually changes the way you think and feel. For the father it could be totally different since they are not the ones who carry the baby for 9 months, they have not been able to bound. A lot of "dad's" bail because they have other things on their minds like childhood! I think if you are old enough to have sex then you should have to take responsibility!! They should start locking people up who don't take it seriously, then i think there would be a lot less orphans out in this world.

I think people should not be having babies that young. It will scare off guys. Women might do the same thing if men were the ones having babies instead of women. As for adults who run off on their kids I don't get it either. If you find an answer please share it with us. lol I think if the parent leaves a child [either mother or father] the child is probably better off anyway. It's hard to be a single parent, I've been there. My 8 year old son hasn't seen his "father" since he was 2. But then again, there is a court order in place because he was abusing us. My son has a half sister that their father hasn't seen in about 7 years. I don't get it but she's probably much better off anyway.

Most teenagers are not ready for the responsibility of taking care of a child well most males are not.
I think that when the female has a baby the father really needs to step up and be a man. If not then they should be nattered like a animal.
Why do the moms always have to take care of the child?

Many teens aren't ready to be parents. Some guys just don't want the responsibility. Some guys want to remain a child forever and have someone take care of them all the time. There are some men out there that are willing to stand up and take care of their children. My dad raised me and my sisters for the past 9 years, (my mom passed away) and my fiance and I are planning on having a child soon. Keep your head up.

A 15-18 year old is nowhere near ready for the responsibility and it scares them and they run.
Not all guys bail out. A woman should choose a mate wisely and not follow her infatuations. Being "in love" with the guy is good, but also look at his behavior, family involvement, level of commitment, needs, wants, goals, ambitions, career opportunities, etc. In other words, the whole package, before you commit to having children with him.

Not all guys bail and the ones that do miss out on more than you can ever imagine. Did it ever occur to you that the baby may be better off without that kind of influence in his life?? I think the dads that bail are just stupid and selfish!!!

Fear I expect. For all our talk of taking equal responsibility for birth control, men can walk away from and unwanted pregnancy, women can't.

.i'm not exactly sure why....if it's a teenage boy( not all ) then their not ready for that kind of responsibility and adult males(not all) to immature to think of anything but what they want.
