This is more along the lines of something to be answered in the sociolgical/psychology area or personals.
I'll humor you and give you a short answer.
Whether someone wants to be dominated regardless of sex is based on the preferences of the individual. It is directly influenced by cultural and sociological influences. In general women will be more inclined to being treated as equals, as this is seen as a sign of respect so it's better to use this as your median.
Being domineering is seen as inapproriate in almost all cultures and it wont make you a babe magnet regardless.

They do not like being dominated but treated as an equal.. However, most women still like the man to ask them out rather than the other way round.

Women hate being dominated. Dominated is such a strong word. Women prefer men who are gentlemen who are not afraid to express their feelings or take control a particular situation.

I dont think anyone can really answer that for you!! It depends on the person. There may be areas in the relationship where she would like to be dominated and there may not be!!
Always treat your partner as your equal and if you notice an area in the relationship she wants you to take charge in you'll know that way.

Making any kind of a sweeping generalization based on gender or any other genetic property is not going to do anyone much good. It all depends on the woman. You have to LISTEN to her and find out what she likes.
