You don't find out without asking him personally unless he tells you.
Does it matter whether he's gay or not? Do you just want to know? Make sure you understand why you're wondering and that you don't ruin a 10 year friendship by a poor reaction.
Rent "Brokeback Mountain" and leave it on the table. After you've watched it.

In reality ? It's really none of my business what relationship they have. If he's happy, just be happy for him. If he's frustrated, ask him to open up to you - don't solve his problem before there is one.
You will only find him resenting you for not minding your own business, and trying to pry into his.
Think about it child - you know I'm right .. back off - or he'll will.
good luck

I usually assume 'just friends' until something shows or says otherwise. Friendship is a strong bond in and of itself. No matter what Freud says, the world is not always about sex.

Yup, he's gay. I hope you're ok with that. Don't say I know you're gay or ask him though. Just go easy on the gay subject and he'll get around to telling you when he's ready.

If you have to assume - 99.9% of the time you're right. But, you should ask him - if he says no, that means nothing. It mean's he's not ready to come out yet. Do you think other "straight" guys are gay? Probably not. Go with your gut - you're probably right.

Yay!!!!
That lame @ss question just got me to level 2!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, be nice to him. He's looking for your acceptance by bringing his friend over. Don't F up by responding the wrong way.

I do not see where it is any of your business.
true, he is your son's godfather but you chose him for good reasons and I am sure those reasons have not changed.
if he feels you need to know, he will tell you. Until then it is his business not yours!
