The movie was settled in a small village, where in spite of post-war restrictions, somebody was organizing a "big party" (the title was something like it) for some national celebration (QEII Crowning??). A big pig was going to be butchered, but since not everybody had been invited, it was kept hidden, even in a house. Comic consequences could not be avoided as the pig had the sh.ts!! I saw it in Italy at an English Movie Club, and I would like to find it in DVD. Simply HI-LA-RI-OUS

It's called A PRIVATE FUNCTION with Michael Palin of Monty Python and the famous Maggie Smith who is the weird house wife and the both raise the pig BETTY illegally, but once everyone is invited for the coronation the pig escapes, it's chuffin' hilarious available online, in stores, etc. A FINE, FINE darker comedy.
