No such thing, the fastest lumina ever made was the '92-94 Lumina Z-34 with a 5-speed. It had a DOHC motor with 200hp. It could smoke GT mustangs and keep right beside a Z28 of the day. They were GM's little secrete. Of Course, now days you can take your grandmothers 2006 4-door luxury sedan and beat it.

first of all they never made a Lumina SS. in 98-99 they release the LTZ model with the 3800. The monte carlo SS on the other hand is a great car, judging by what i've heard and what things i have seen done with them.

Give me a late 70's or mid to late 80's Monte Carlo...you can put any engine from the Chevy/GM family in there easy and a supercharger ...to me, the Lumina was a weak substitute for the Nova and Chevelle....between the Impala and Monte Carlo...but if you can stick a 350 in there ....you're good to go!

There isn't anything good about a lumina. It was Chevy's replacement for the Monte Carlo and it was a piece of crap.Had a terrible engine and the steering racks went bad along with many, many other things.Don't even get me started on the brakes in that thing!

Than a Chevette? Sure. Than a Corvette? No way.
What the heck are you trying to compare it to?
