If the Castro experiment has taken hold,,,,then the next generation will follow his formula....

it did not happen in China with Mao, Vietnam with Ho, and others..cause they were cult based off leader instead of principal based like US....so will Cuba's Castro model....

his brother will rule....to hold off change...then the next set of leaders will offer change to catch up..........

the Venezuela leader, Hugo wants to take the mantle of socialist leadership in Latin America......so it will dilute Cuba's ability to be at top of the political agenda after Castro dies

I'm so tired of explaining this. How many Democracy's are there in the entire world?

The United States is often referred to as a Democracy. That is wrong. It is a Constitutional Republic.

A Democracy is a system of government in which the citizens have a right to vote directly on legislation and be a direct part of the decision making process as it pertains to politics and government.

A Republic is a system of government in which citizens delegate that direct decision making ability to elected officials/representatives.

So to answer your question: no. Cuba will most likely end up either maintaining it's Communist/Dictatorship form of government unless IT'S people fight for something else.

The latter is unlikely since most people are spineless.

Of course they can!

It might take 20 -30 years, but if Russia did and if Germany did and if Thailand did, why can't Cuba? Even Iraq is working on democracy (albeit, not in the most efficient path).

Castro Jr. will just pick up the torch. Castro senior is the leader and Castro Jr. is the mirror. Nothing will change, dont expect it to.

Here we go putting our nose where it shouldn't be. Why don't we let the suffering people decide what they need and want-- We can't fix every country. Democracy is not the best when a few
hands control the wealth like here.

If Castro's successor wants it, then Cuba will find democracy.

It will never happen, there'll be so much turmoil in that Island that democracy is going to take a very long time to reach.

Why would they want to. Because of low crime they are more free than you. Would little Cuba go home?
