Yeah. Get a program called Acoustica Mixcraft from http://acoustica.com/mixcraft and you can shorten songs, add effects, or whatever else you please. Also, it's the simplest out there, so definitely give it a try. Have fun :)

Yes. Use the sound recorder to lop off the part of the song you don't want. I think the sound has to be a wav file though and not mp3, so you will have to convert it over. You can even copy and paste bits and pieces to make a mix.

if you use nero burning rom, while creating a music cd, you can right click on a song then select properties, click the 'indexes, limits, split' tab.. from there you can move the slider on each side of the song and change its duration.

easy as that

you can. you can buy [or download... i think there is a free trial] Adobe Audition and you can modify the song as you please.
