This is why I'm not voting for Obama. He's trying to take the one means of protecting ones family away from us. I own a house, I have a wife and 3 kids. I also own a 9mm which stays locked up in a gun shelf in my walk in closet that also stays locked. I also have a sign on my front door that says "Intruders will be welcomed, with a 9mm". I find it wrong that he would want to take away my right to protect my family. His views are very twisted compared to mine and I seriously hope people don't fall for his Liberalism.

Not just yes, but HELL YES..!

I laugh at all the liberals living snugly isolated from reality in their lofty white towers who think that banning hand guns is going to magically solve all the problems related to firearms. It's as if they think that such a ban is going to cause the millions and millions of guns existing in this nation simply to vanish in the next instant. It's a well-worn phrase, but still true -- "If guns are outlawed, then only outlaws will have guns."

In Alaska, not only do we have a right to bear arms in our homes, but we may carry a concealed gun without a permit. Even better, we may use that gun and the deadly force it provides to protect ourselves from car-jacking, and anyone else who threatens us with deadly force (stalker, ex-husband, -wife, drug feind, etc.), anywhere, anytime. Excepting, of course, banks, government buildings, and properties that specifically bar access to those who are packing.

There is a lot of support from our liberals for the freedom to use deadly force against the idiots who want to cause trouble for our peaceful citizens.

Absolutely!!! As well as the right to arm bears.

Seriously, I think that a lot of those who say we shouldn't be trusted with our own protection generally want to do things that we may need to protect ourselves from. I also can't see the idea that preserving the life of a criminal who is threatening your own is of more value than preserving your own life or that of your family, friends or others that rightfully need defense.

I support the Second Amendment to the core of my being. We should always remember that it's the Second Amendment which render the rest of the Constitution viable. A well-armed populace cannot be subjugated by a despotic government.

You can't go believing everything you read out here.

I really don't know how much good it would do if you had a gun in your house. With my luck. I'd probably get mugged in the garage while my gun was in the bedroom nightstand and the bullets were in the closet.

Yes! It is a constitutional right to bear arms and that right should not be taken away.

There should also be strict registration laws and gun safety needs to be enforced.
