Rather than faith, or belief, I prefer to use actual physical evidence and logic to determine which was the most likely course of events.
On the one hand, we have a scientific theory that explains pretty much entire structure of the human body, down to teeth cusps, musculature, skeletal anatomy, blood proteins and DNA, nuclear and mitochondrial, as well as the observed distribution and age of fossils and archaeological material found throughout the globe.
In the other hand, we have a couple of lines in a book that contradict what it says in the same book in the next chapter, that don't explain anything about why we have nearly identical anatomy and genetics to chimpanzees, contradict what is shown in the fossil and archaeological record, and force us to ignore the findings and scientific discoveries in the fields of geology, physics, chemistry, biology, genetics and astronomy to try to fit into the storybook version.
So, amazingly enough, I prefer to put my trust in logic and reason, and accept that the theory of evolution fits all the evidence, while there is no evidence to support the story version.
However, this does not mean that god(s) could not or did not have a hand in creating or even guiding the evolutionary process. It just couldn't have happened the way it says in Genesis. At least one of the chapters has to be wrong.

The is lots of evidence that supports the theory of evolution. Fossils, for instance, show a very clean time line for the evolution of plants and animals. Also, you can see the evolution of animals and plants on a shorter time line when species are migrated to different places than where they are originally from. For instance, if you put a salamander in total darkness, it will turn white and eventually go blind.
But I don't think that means that the story of Adam and Eve is irrelevant. It just needs to be looked at in a non-literal way. The story of Adam and Eva is just a parable for the beginning of human life. Life began in Africa, and all life migrated out from there over time. And if the first of men and women are considered our Adams and Eves, then sure, we are all descended from them. So yes, we all have a common origin, if you go back far enough. And from that origin, we have continued to evolve.
If you look at it that way, there is room for both the creationists and the evolutionists.

I am a definite believer in God's creation... Man (Adam) and Woman (Eve) were created in the likeness and image of God... There is no possibility that man could have evolved from anything... especially a predecessor that was ameobic, fish-like, or apes... There are some similarities in some ways between men and monkeys, but I will believe that we mock or mimic each other... not evolve from one another...
I do know that we have Heavenly parents, just as we have earthly parents here and now... the powers of creation are evident to us all... just some choose to look for other answers!
I know that we all have our own freedoms and one is expression of knowledge and opinions... that is why we are able to talk about things such as creation vs evolution...

Frankly I fail to see the conflict. There is no doubt the entire human race is decended from a single mother. That does not mean she was not a product of evolution nor does that exclude the possibility that evolution is an instrument of intelligent design.
I think the arguement is hyped up but out of nothing.

In biology, evolution is the process in which some of a population's inherited traits become more common, at the expense of others, from generation to generation. This is usually measured in terms of the variant genes, known as alleles, that encode the competing traits. As differences in and between populations accumulate over time, speciation, the development of new species from existing ones, can occur. All known organisms, including extinct species, are related by common descent through numerous speciation events starting from a single ancestor.[1][2]
Mutation of the genes, migration between populations, and the reshuffling of genes during sexual reproduction creates variation in organisms. While a certain random component, known as genetic drift, is involved, the variation is also acted on by natural selection, in which organisms which happen to have combinations of traits that help them to survive and reproduce more than others in the population will, on average, have more offspring, passing more copies of these beneficial traits on to the next generation. This leads to advantageous traits becoming more common in each generation, while disadvantageous traits become rarer. [1][3][4] Given enough time, this passive process can result in varied adaptations to changing environmental conditions.[5]
The theory of evolution by natural selection was first put forth in detail in Charles Darwin's 1859 book On the Origin of Species. In the 1930s, Darwinian natural selection was combined with Mendelian inheritance to form the modern evolutionary synthesis.[5] With its enormous explanatory and predictive power, this theory has become the central organizing principle of modern biology, providing a unifying explanation for the diversity of life on Earth.[6][7][8]
* First day: The universe is created ("In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth"). Light is created. ("Let there be light.") This light is not the sun or stars, as these are created later. It is described by some as a primordial light. The light is divided from the darkness, and called good by God. The statement in verse 8 that there was evening and there was morning is often cited as the reason that the Jewish day starts at sunset.
* Second day: The firmament of Heaven is created. The waters above it are separated from the waters below.
* Third day: Land is created, separated from the waters, and named. The water is also named. Grass, herbs and fruit-bearing trees are created.
* Fourth day: Lights are made in the firmament of Heaven, to appear regularly, aiding time-keeping. Two particularly large lights are made, the lesser one the Moon and the greater one the Sun.
* Fifth day: Air and sea creatures are created, including "great sea-monsters" or "great whales". They are commanded to be fruitful and multiply.
* Sixth day: Land animals are created, and God calls them good. Man and woman are created in God's image. They are told to "be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it." Humans and animals are given plants to eat. The totality of creation is described by God as "very good".

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!
Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!
Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?
My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:
Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...
Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...
Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?
