US Dept of Health & Human Serv. - You can Search for List of doctors/ family practice clinics covering Graceville who will most likely accept Medicaid here. There are quite a few, but direct link to the search results page will not work when I post it here

I have a friend who also has medicaid and has had the same problem here in NJ. At one point she was traveling 45 minutes to see doctors and specialists. Usually if you go online there is a list of possible doctors in your area. I would start there. I believe she changed to a different HMO that was still in the medicaid program. She ended up losing her son's allergist to gain a closer pediatrician. It's a shame. There really are not enough choices for people, and becasue of the inconsistencies with different providers paying bills or causing problems with doctors, many doctors and specialists have given up. Talk to someone about changing HMO's. I'm not quite sure how it works. Another great option is to contact special services in your area. They have a wide range of resources and may know some reputable doctors who accept medicaid.

Hi,I live in Ocoee,Florida.I have had three pregnancies my self here in Florida, and I was on the special medicaid program called MOM CARE. If you go into a medicaid office in your area, just ask them to give you an application for MOM CARE. They are a little more flexible with the income,it covers all your exsames, and the birth, and the baby will have straight medicaid for a whole year! Then after that you would have to apply for Florida Kid Care, with a monthly premium of about 20 bucks for your baby's medical care. The number to Florida Kidcare is 1-800-821-5437.And my ob/gyn was NOT in a clinic ,if you were concerned about that, neither are my three daughters doctor in a clinic. We have our Doctors in the Health Central Hospital on W.Colonial Dr. in Ocoee. I don't know exsactly where YOUR city is though ,I never heard of Graceville.
I hope I could help you out in some way. Good Luck to you and don't loose your cool, your little one will feel it.

I also live in florida and just got medicaid for my pregnancy...Depending on your income u could be approved for pregnant women medicaid..There is a location I believe might be near you that u can go to and apply in person at ...The Following are the service sites in your area.
6 SOUTH KEY ST
QUINCY , FL
That is the closest one to Graceville thats erves your area...U can also apply online at...http://www.myflorida.com/accessflorida/
When that page comes up u click on apply for food stamps, temp cash assistance or medicaid...Once u click on that it will leadu to the medicaid site...It takes up to a few days to get approved but is very easy to get..most pregnant women get approved very easily...It will cover EVERYTHING during your pregnancy and u will not have to pay a dime, which will be very easy on you, besides almost every doctor accepts medicaid... If u do not want that then call the doctors and find out which insurance they accept, then call your hmo provider and switch to another insurance provider afterwards...most hmo's let you switch and will help u find a doctor in your area that accepts that insurance..I highley recommend the medicaid for you right now but if its not an option give the others a call..Good luck!

I would def call the member services # on the back of your ins card. They should have a referral list of providers who take Medicaid. I do know, sadly, that not too many will. I happen to work for a doctor here in FL also *Boca Raton* and he does accept HMO *Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, United, Neighborhood Health, Vista and Avmed* but he wants nothing to do w/ Medicaid since the payout is almost non existant.

Call your social worker. It is their JOB to help you through this type of thing.
Call the local department of human services, ask who your case worker is, and make an appointment to see them. When you go in, take all paperwork--id, birth certificates, medicaid cards, etc--and explain what you need. The case worker should not only explain it all to you, but also make the necessary phone calls to get you set up. Good luck!

Sorry to hear that... this is why I moved out of FL. It is such a horrible place to live the people are terrible and the doctors worse. Including my stuck up Dr. Son. Most are getting rid of their malpractice insurance.

Contact your caseworker. Each state has different Medicaid Guidelines. I know FL provides Healthy Start and WIC all services that should help you. It is your caseworkers job to help you find a Dr.
