Russia helping Iran- greeaattt?

Russia's economy sucks so they have to resort in sellling missiles the extremist leaders.

"Earlier Tuesday, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said Moscow had sent air defense missiles to Teheran, the first high-level confirmation that their delivery took place despite US complaints. Ivanov did not specify how many missile systems had been delivered.

"We have delivered short-range Tor-M1 missiles to Iran in accordance with the contract," Ivanov told reporters.

The Tor-M1 is an advanced anti-aircraft system that can identify up to 48 targets and fire at two targets simultaneously, at altitudes of up to 6,000 meters.

Defense officials predicted the systems would be used to defend Iran's nuclear facilities, particularly the uranium enrichment center at Natanz. The officials said that while the missiles were advanced and "highly-capable," the Israel Air Force was "well-trained" and knew how to deal with multiple and varied threats."

Just ups the ante. Nothing new here the Germans, French and Russians were helping Saddam with missles, and GPS jamming technology.

No biggy if we really want to get the job done. The anti-aircraft missles are useless against ICBM's which is the weapon I recommend for use in destroying Irans nuclear capability. Besides the Russian air defense stuff used by Saddam didn't seem to work that well in the first Gulf war.

I would rather trust Russia than the U.S.. At least I know where Russia really stands, unlike the U.S. who had been double-dealing all the time. The U.S. supported Saddam Hussein, then went against him. The U.S. supported Bin Laden in the Soviet-Afghan war, then went against him. The U.S. sold weapons to Iran during the Iran-Contra deal despite the fact that the U.S. branded Iran as a hostile nation. The U.S. supported Noriega of Panama, then went against him. These are just few of a long list of known U.S. double-deals. On the other hand, I have never seen Russia ever switching sides on whoever they supported. Without a doubt, the U.S. will even sell you if it considered you're useful enough as a cannon fodder.

Russia has been assisting Iran with a new nuclear reactor for some time. But I don't think they would align themselves with Iran; their ideologies are entirely different.
The Russians would be stupid, of course, if they believed the radical Iranian regime would not ultimately use any and all Russian assistance against the Russians themselves.

No surprise here. The goal is to curb American power and policy in any and every way, and use the UN to prevent and hinder the 'evil' Americans at every turn. Now that the pathetic, puling, partisan, plutocrat pukes in congress are sending their terrorist buddies a clear go-ahead-we-will-do-all-we-can to-ensure-America's-defeat message, it all seems a moot point anyway. I weep for my country.

russia has always been the same tward the first ower in the world.they always dream of being the most powerful country, but they dont have the guts to act about it. so what they do is they weaken the powwerful countries by helping their enemies. that is why russia is helping iran, as iran is opposing USA.

USA Britain and many other countries have nuclear weapons...so what if Iran has them their can be trusted with them more than the USA so stop moanin like a ******* ***** and get over it so what if Russia helps them hopefully theyll get together and wipe the USA of the face of the planet.
