I was recently summoned to jury duty, came for three times and the judge dismissed my panel as well as others. Several days later, i found my case number to be pending on the website again. Does that mean that i have to do it one more time? I hate it a lot cuz it's waste of times, can't work, can't do anything. Why do we have to do it? This is a stupidest law to me, it sucks.

We have to take the bad with the good. It's part of the duty that you pay for the privilege of being an American citizen. Just be glad you live in a country that has a jury system. You could live in a country that would have you shot on the spot, guilty or not.

Jury Duty is a wonderful thing. The first step is trial by the court, the lawyers argue their points, the Judge makes the decision if your guilty or not. A jury trial, you are judged by your peers, people similiar to you, possibly with the same past experiences, etc. I was a juror on a step-father raping his step-daughter. She said she had two bedrooms... no one believed that. As a juror, I was able to tell them when growing up, I also had two bedrooms. Jurors debated several issues in this case, the man was found guilty. The advantage of a jury trial.

I agree with the fact that doing it kinda sucks.....but at the same time...it is one of the great things that we have in this country. The right to a jury trial. The not being able to work or anything does suck...but serving when asked is all part of living here. We have a lot of rights garenteed to us and the price we pay, other than the blood of our troops, is things like having to serve on juries.

We (the man on the street) have three absolute controls over our country... The ballot box, the Jury box, and finally the cartridge box. The ballot box is failing, the jury box is the only thing standing between us and another revolution... SUPPORT it..
Log on th the Fully Informed Jury Association (FIJA) website, download and print their flyer, and distribute it to all the jurors you come in contact with... When the court discovers this they will have you home watching The Simpsons in a quick heartbeat...
if thats what you want...

It's terrible in los angeles. They pack like over a hundred people into a small waiting room. Me and this other guy often sat outside in hallway, we stayed near the door so we could hear when they called us. One time I was there near xmas time and it was really slow and we just sat around all day waiting, they kept us there until 5:00 each day. And they only pay $16 a day and a little for gas if you drive a car. (that's if you're crazy enough to drive into downtown los angeles). Anyway I have served 3 times and consider it my duty but why does it have to be so bad?

Jury duty is necessary to help our government deal with crimes. I agree with you, though, that the process needs to be streamlined to help eliminate the inconvenience that is caused. Especially to people who are self-employed or have children to take care of and such.
