How do I find other musicians who would be interested in making music together dispite not being together.?

I've checked the music 'chat" rooms and I've checked out the net, but to date i cannot find a place where musicans can actually play together using their recording devices and their computer.

Try some coffee houses and stuff or check myspace there are tons of musicians on there!
