How about Ninja Pirates?

Pirates are thieves who succeeded largely because of opportunity -- they attacked in a situation where there were few options and no help. They were overly romanticized by landlubbers who dreamed of escaping the drudgery of early industrial city life.
Ninjas at least had seriously intense training, physical and meditation. I think they were often linked with political intrigue, spying and carrying out assasinations, although that might just be the stories that were told. They were in some sort of on-going war with the samurai too, can't remember details though.
I vote for ninjas because I admire the skill and discipline of the martial arts. I doubt that I would want to spend much time with either group however.

Pirates arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr cooler by far.
To prove it, there is an International Talk like a Pirate day (September 19th) but there is no days for ninjas.

Ninja's easily.....they are more stealthy and can do alot more cooler things. There is a book (fiction) called "White Ninja" by Eric Van Lustbader and if you read it, you will see why Ninja's are way cooler than pirates.

Ninjas definately. They just get on with the killing and dont show off with all the aarghs and yo-ho-hos.
Imagine how cool Ninja Pirates would be?

Pirates, for reasons that you and your friend would probably not agree with. However if Orlando bloom and Johnny Depp are any indication of what pirates were like well then, all I can say is "shiver me timbers"!!!!
