The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons. Like the 9/11 attacks, that was the worst.

The definition of the term in the Oxford Concise Dictionary of Politics (2nd edition) begins:
Term with no agreement amongst government or academic analysts, but almost invariably used in a pejorative sense, most frequently to describe life-threatening actions perpetrated by politically motivated self-appointed sub-state groups
The American Heritage Dictionary defines terrorism as "The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons."

Ultimately it's history that decides. If we had lost the revolutionary war those who we now call our founding fathers would have been branded as terrorists.
It's non-traditional warfare generally used with the intent of making the civilian population decide to stop whatever government actions the terrorists are against. It is directed at causing an emotional response instead of a reasoned one. It tries to make people feel that, no matter how much they think their course of action is right, it's just not worth the cost in general carnage.

It is a kind of act , when we come from their aspects, is just like a war, a struggle for the fulfilments of their needs, but which is not encouragible by the society, which is unlawful. some times it seems tobe the war against the values of their motive, but in social it is terminated. The fight they fought may be for the right cause but the way they go is wrong, as every country has its constitution, law and governance which is compulsory to be obeyed Nowadays terrirism is a fashion, not the struggle for the right.
