I just heard of 'new research' on calcium with the proportions of these nutrients mentioned, and it sounded wrong. What do you believe are the correct dosages of calcium, vitD and the other (magnesium?) nutrient that work together? I realise only a doctor can reliably tell me. I'm asking for general data, and will not go consume the things.

Here it is: a doctor on OPRAH said (women only, none at all for men) "500-700mg calcium per day and 1000mg vitD3" (what more to D is there, and what about that?). Didn't he say anything about magnesium? I remember that triangle of interaction...

you take half the amount of Magnesium to calcium for every 100 mg calcium take 50 mg magnesium. Magnesium is important so that the calcium does not build up deposits on your bones. It is also essential to your heart pumping.
With the D I would take 200 IU; less if and when you are in the sun a lot.
