There are certain responsibilities, social responsibilities, that all humans are entrusted with. If you see an old woman being mugged; your responsible to help or get her help. If your brother's sinning it's your responsibility to confront him. When you confront him, you should do it once, and than his blood is off your hands. There are certain times you are your brothers keeper. When it is a matter of life and death or eternity.

I have a responsibility to all of my brethren; ie all the other passengers of this vessel atop which we are ridin'. Their well-being is my well-being. Their struggles mine.
This doesn't require me to fund their Bad Choices, but help them to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps....
