Walk. It helps the process. I walked a mile and had the baby within 2 hours.

Wow you are 39 weeks & 75 % effaced & not being induced that is insane...go for a walk if it is cold go to the mall & walk laps & walk the steps, have sex (if ob oks w/ mucus plug lost, make sure first) anyway the most time you have is 5 days usually after losing your plug. My OB nurse always tells me to make chocolate chip cookies (homemade) w/o a mixer, just spoon after losing your plug (old wives tale) but so far I have alwys had my water break the night i made the cookies, lol worth a try?

You can't! There are so many myths about making labor happen fast. I will only happen when your cervix is ready for the baby to be born.
Once your reach 5 it will move very fast if your lucky.
I was in labor a week with my last daughter; I was at 3 and my plug came out and I walked and walked, drink lots of water, but it was 5 days later when they had to induce. She still wasn't born right away. My body took its time for her to be born.
Just take it easy and breath, it will happen when your body is ready. Its easier with them in the womb than when they become teenagers.
Good Luck

I certainly wish all of the young pregnant girls out there would quit asking this question. Your body and your baby is different from any other woman in the world, the baby will come when he/she is ready and trying to "get things rolling" could potentially hurt you and the baby. You have been patient up till now just be patient a little longer and you will enjoy the experience that much more.

I don't think you can, I tired it all, my son was very late in coming. For 2 weeks I heard anytime now, my son made his entrance the day the doc was going to induce.
Take some time to make sure all of your baby stuff is ready. And relax, it will be the last time for the next 18 or 20 years that you will be able to.

I did everything in the book from walking every day, bumpy car rides, spicy foods, sex...you name it I did it and NOTHING happened. Try some of those and see how it goes for you though. Check out babycenter.com for some tips as well. The baby will come when he/she is ready no matter what you may try to do. Unfortunately in my case she was ready but my body wasn't and I had my daughter 10 days late...lol. Congrats and best wishes!

If you just lost your mucus plug you could go into labor any day now. For me i lost my mucus plug then the next day i got induced if i hadn't got induced i most likely would have gave birth the same day i did or a couple days after.

Go for a long walk. You can also try sex. Semen softens the cervix. Congratulations! Hopefull you will have a baby by the weekend!
