Teaching is something that I truly enjoy doing, but I just want to try something different. I tried changing grade levels by moving from 4th to 8th grade. I like 8th grade better, but I just want to work outside of the classroom for a while. Not to mention, the pay is not that great either...especially considering all that I am required to do. Can anybody help?!?!?

What about teaching for a corporation? They call them "corporate trainers". You still get to do all the fun things about teaching (being creative, developing lessons, etc)!

My teaching degree got me into the Army. Would you consider jumping out of an aircraft or visiting exotic places like Iraq? Actually the Army has been a good career move and I've been in for 10 years now. Started enlisted and went to OCS to become a Comissioned Officer.

When my mother became tired of teaching, she got a job as a coordinator first then director of the A.P.P.L.E program which is a grant based program to help kids get into college. She still helps them, teaches them, and/or is around them but without all of the "school politics" She loves it, makes more money, has less stress, etc. Or if there isn't one in your area start one up!!!

I have my undergrad degree in elementary education and currently working on my masters in early childhood. I'm a director in a preschool. I'm not in the classroom but I'm with the kids on a daily basis. That may be something to try.

there are not too many people willing to hire someone with an education background to work in other fields...if you have another marketable skill (ie. web design, graphic arts etc...) you are more likely to find work outside of the ed. field...or you have to pursue another Master's
