I had sound on Monday, I was out yesterday and today I have NO sound. What can I do to get it back? I don't even know where to begin...thanks!

It can be complicated, but here's my advice.
If you're on a network, and it was disabled by the admin of your network, you're SOL, nothing you can do.
But, try this. In the lower right part of your screen there may be a little yellow oval. Double click on that. (If not, go to start, settings, control panel, sound). Make sure mute is not checked in any boxes, and make sure all the sliders are up.
If you are allowed to, make sure you password protect your computer so nobody can mess with it while you are gone.

look in your system tray(bottom right where your clock is) there should be a sound icon - looks like a speaker. if it has a big red circle with a line through it, it means it is on mute. you can double-click on this to get sound options. if that checks out ok, check your speakers - are they exterior ones? do they have a volume swithch or anything? make sure they are plugged in. if all this checks out ok, there might be something wrong with your sound card. hope this helps!

Look down at the lower right corner of your screen, look for a little speaker icon, does it have a red circle over it? If it does, it is muted, just right click on it, and unmute or pull the volume bar up.

go to taskbar (bottom right corner) click on the sound icon and untick "mute" (2) right click sound icon click on volume control and untick any boxes your boss might have ticked

do a system recovery ,
start /programmes accessories/system tool and system recovery
maybe you got a virus
