I am having a little dispute with a friend, which has been going on for awhile and could use some male and female input. I have always had perfect experience with condoms, so I guess I'm biased. She told me that she is worried because when her boyfriend ejaculates that he shoots it a long, long way. (I'm truly sorry to be graphic, but it pertains to the question.) She thinks that sometimes, after sex, when the condom and the very base of his penis is wet, that it is actually his "fluids" shooting back up and out of the condom. Both he and I think it is from her. She does admit that the condom is always securely on him and affixed way up high on his p*nis (and never broken), and she can see the "normal" amount of sperm in the tip. Is she being paranoid?? I guess I really can't see semen escaping from a tight elastic rim, especially if her boyfriend pulls out immediately after ejaculation, despite his "condition" .
I'm sorry if this is too gross. Serious answers only , please!

It is her. Even he releases more than the normal amount, there would have to be a huge amount of force to push it out of the bottom of the condom. If the condom is put on properly, then she is being paranoid.

Every man ejaculates sperm at about 30mph, if you want to be really graphic. Condoms are designed to function with that knowledge. And the knowledge that every man is different.

When rolled up completely onto the base of the penis, and when in excellent condition (no holes or tears), And the small space is left a the tip, condoms are very effective.

Women are also known to 'ejaculate' fluid, some more than others, but every woman has fluid that is released during sex. This is what she's seeing.

Your friend seems to be mistaken, I would say.

She seems to be paranoid, but to let you know, my husband and I used condoms as birth control for 4 months. I was waiting for my health insurance to kick in to get back on the pill. I got pregnant with my son while using the condoms. We never noticed any that broke or fell off either, so I would definitely have a back up method in use at the same time you use the condoms. We used the ones that had the spermicide on them too. Be careful.

Condoms prove to be the safest practice known to mankind! It is a proven fact. If the condom is on correctly like you said then your friend may be a little paranoid..if she is that concerned have her put a contraceptive sponge in as well along with a condom as double protection.Still worried ... well then have her read the instructions on the condom box or even better have her look up the web address on the box. Trojan has there web address listed there. I hope this helps..

It has to be from her. Condoms are made to stretch. I don't think he is the only guy ever that has a lot of pressure behind it. If she didnt' have any fluid it would be a lot of painful friction. She seems to be paranoid but if she feels so strongly about it..she should really go on the pill/shot or some female birth control.

Chances are it's her bodily fluids but if he is pulling the condom on too tightly and not leaving enough room in the tip then it could leak out of the top.

He should always leave adequate room in the reservoir to accomodate his ejaculate.

She can tell by just feeling the viscosity who's bodily fluids it is. His will tend to be more slippery and will strand when pulled apart, hers will be less so and won't have a mucosal texture.

my hubby says YES could be his if he doesn't leave enough of a "well" at the tip. Motion can cause some fluids to travel up and sometimes out. There is a reason why condoms are only 95% (or something like that) effective. GO ON THE PILL!! :-)

The answer is both; from him and her. After the male ejaculates, the penis starts the process of "shrinking" which makes the condom looser, letting semen escape from the end. Also, while the male is still "thrusting" it forces semen out of the condom.

I think she's being paranoid as long as the condoms on correctly everything should be fine. The wetness is from her. But if she's that worried the only thing that will keep her completely safe is to not have sex at all.
