Since you've asked for only two differences between the federal and state constitutions, I would list the scope of protections and the ultimate power to interpret, skipping the obvious answer of length (state constitutions can run into the hundreds of pages).

Under the principle of federalism, the Bill of Rights (first 14 amendments to the Federal Constitution) establish the minimum protections that will be afforded to every United States citizen. Since any power not specifically granted to the federal government under the United States Constitution is left to each state, every state is free to extend additional protections to its citizens, and indeed many state constitutions do just that. This is why different state court's have ruled differently on the issue of gay marriage, for example. In each case a court had to decide whether the additional rights granted by the state constitution required allowing marriage by same-sex couples, and in some states the answer was yes, while in others the answer was no.

The second difference I listed was the power to interpret. The Federal Constitution is ultimately interpreted by the United States Supreme Court, while the power to interpret a state constitution is left to the a state's courts. Unless a provision of the state's constitution conflicts with a federal law or the Federal Constitution, the highest court in a state is responsible for the ultimate interpretation of a provision of the state's constitution, and the federal courts have no say.

The second ammendment of the right to bear arms, and a well armed militia the right to exist is definately one of them. Freedom of speech has got to be the other, the first ammendment. Really when you think about it are freedoms are hanging on by a thread.
