Some of her signature accessories included black O-ring bracelets (dozens of them, both arms), lots of rhinestones, big long chains with crosses on them (usually multiple chains) and slouchey belts with cool belt buckles. She did a lot of black lace, leggings under mini skirts, spandex leggings, super skinny tight jeans with an ultra-cropped jacket of some sort. If you really paid attention, you'd notice she wore dancer's shoes and ballet flats a lot. She also did a lot of lace fingerless gloves, hair scarves, and cool hats. She was the original dancer waif. The bustier was pretty much her 80's signature top to wear anywhere and she wasn't the slightest bit afraid to wear a garter belt and real stockings so they showed under her miniskirt. Remember, Madonna pioneered the "underwear as outerwear" look long before Calvin Klein. She was also moving into the Virgin/Slut persona we all know and love towards the end of the 80's--so anything little girlish-hooker or catholic schoolgirl/stripper would work too.

A better movie to see the very beginnings of her signature 80's look would be "Vision Quest"--she is not the star (in fact, it's Linda Fiorentino), but Madonna performs in a club during a long scene in the movie and looks fab.

Ballet flats are hot again and so are lace-up boots--both of which were Madonna mainstays. Lace shirts aren't that hard to come by and you just need to layer them over something sexy or shocking. Leggings with minis are also all the rage right now--I'd wear them again too if I were younger.

BTW, have I totally betrayed the fact that I was a child of the 80's and LOVED Madonna---just a little bit????????

Last note? Dye your hair blonde, tease it big, and use an entire can of AquaNet hair spray to hold it............LOL!

you def. need to get some rubber bracelets, get the cool black leggings that cut off ..and lacy top black, with some neon colors to mix..addidas 80's classic sneakers w/ thick laces , big earrings, big hair.. one thing about the 80's is that everything was bigger..including the shoulder pads! good luck

if you have blonde hair it will naturally get bleached by the particular sun in the summer. There was this guy in my class who else had golden blonde hair that has been a medium brown near the base. When he came back to school after summer vacation, it was practically platinum blonde!

Jet black hair. I have really dark brown hair and I consider dark hair looks better. I avoid really like blonde hair.
