i have my x-husband's last name. I do not want his last name anymore but I do not want to go back to my maiden name. I have 2 kids from my x fiance. Can I change my last name to the same as my 2 little girls'?

Yes. It's a simple legal procedure. You have to appear briefly in a court of law to do it. It costs under $250 in many places.

You can change your name by "common use" - in other words, announce the change & begin to use it all the time. This is the easiest option, but can get confusing and create a few legal document hassles along the way.
Or, you can go through the court system. Check at your local county court/city hall for required forms & procedures, or if you can afford it, see an attorney.

You may want to talk to your ex fiance about that but I would not see a problem with it if he agrees. Besides it is so much more convenient to have the same name as your children, less explanations regarding the difference in name.

Yes U can but it could cost U up to $1000.00 a friend of mine did this & it cost her $950 & now she isn't with the guy no more and they never had kids either she just wanted his last name

That is a great question but I do not think you can change your name well you may be able to if you can legally change your first name why not your last.

I believe you can change your name to anything you want however, you may want to really think it over before changing it to an x fiance's. You also may want to discuss it with him.

yes go to city hall and they charge 50 bucks but thats a good price so you will match your little ones

did you use a marriage cert to change your last name to his??? if so it's reverse to change it back use your birth cert. to change to your children's last name then you would have to do a legal name change which costs big bucks....
