A as in apple? B as in boy? C as in cat? Is this right? and can someone do the whole alphabet. I believe the military uses this and people use this when exchange letters/spelling on the phone. I know V as in Victor is correct.

I believe the military uses...
A Alpha N November
B Bravo O Oscar
C Charlie P Papa
D Delta Q Quebec
E Echo R Romeo
F Fox-trot S Sierra
G Golf T Tango
H Hotel U Uniform
I India V Victor
J Juliet W Whiskey
K Kilo X X-ray
L Lima Y Yankee
M Mike Z Zulu

But other than military,
It does not matter what word you use as long as it is a commonly spelled word.

Our naval man above gave the 'phonetic alphabet' but just to add my pennyworth, numbers also have a code: 1 - 4 as spoken, 5 = fife: 6 - 8 as spoken, 9 = niner.................
