If Bush and his cabal controlled gas prices, why didn't the prices go back up after the elections? It has been almost 3 months and gas prices still dropping.

Apparently a lot of liberals, who swore that Bush forced down gasoline prices at the pump before the elections and would make them skyrocket afterward, just don't understand basic economics. Unfortunately, our nation fails to require voters to know anything, and our public schools pass and graduate ALL students just to get rid of them, regardless of whether they can even read or write.

One more time: It's the law of supply and demand that sets gasoline prices, and the price of everything else.

Because of the "Supply and Demand" conspiracy. Winter has been warmer than normal so far (except for the past couple of days), which resulted in less use of heating oil. Heating oil is made from crude oil, and less use of it has resulted in higher supply of crude oil, making the price of crude go down. Gasoline is also made from crude oil, and over 50% of the price of gas at the pump is based on the price of crude.

OPEC has some control over the price, but not as much as they use to. They already lowered production to raise the price, but the price continued to drop. Lowering production causes less supply, which makes the price of crude go up. But there are many non-OPEC oil producing countries out there now that OPEC doesn't have the power they use to.

What!! why you are complaining about dropping gas prices?
COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS IN EUROPE GAS IS AROUND $4
think about it this way. If the price of gas goes up 3.00 or more(lord i hope not) that will mean the basic needs will begin to get more expensive. If gas still keeps climbing (never hope to see this day when gas in usa is 3.50 or more) then are going walk every where to?

Because the economy's still relatively good at this point. Look at the stock market right now, it's getting so high that people are fearing a crash. Then gas will skyrocket again.
