I think they are. Aaron Gray is a tough matchup for anyone when he is on, and he's starting to turn it on. Also, Pitt is probably the deepest team in the conference. Besides their starting 5 of Gray, Fields, Kendall, Cook, and Graves, they have contributors off the bench in Ramon (who has a ridiculously smooth shot), Biggs, Benjamin, and Young. They played a much tougher non conference schedule this year than they have in years past, and that should only help them coming down the stretch in the tough Big East, and in the NCAA Tournament. They've already beaten a couple of Big East teams who were highly regarded coming into the season in Syracuse, Georgetown, and UConn. Marquette will be another big test coming up this Sunday. I think the Panthers are the best team in the Big East, hopefully they will continue to play that way.
Also, as nice as it would be to win the Big East regular season and/or tournament, I'd like for them to finally get over the hump and make it past the Sweet 16. So many disappointing losses in the NCAA's over the past few years!

For now Yes Pitt is the best but it's a long season and with march madness only 6 weeks away I can't wait.

too early to tell, the big east looks wide open this year.............probably get 7 teams in the big dance.

And I think they're definitely one of the top two teams in that league.
