Feminism: Equality or equitable treatment of women, (and men).

If a woman, your wife, works and produces 25% more than another man or woman, should she get the same pay ?

Should she not get 25% more ?

Is not the logical need for women to be treated with equity and not merely equal to other people ?

Absolutely.

And conversely, if she produces 25% less than another man or woman, she should get 25% less pay.

If feminism were actually about equal opportunity, then this would be what feminists struggle for.

In reality feminism is not about equal opportunity; it is about equal outcomes. This is why we have to lower the standards for women to participate in so many things, like football teams, and firefighting, and policework, among so many other things.

I don't see how this is about feminism. This seems more like a question of contract and raises.

I do think that people should be given equal pay for the same job, but this means that a man and a women with equal qualifications, experience, and education should be paid the exact same amount for the exact same task. If the man has better qualifications then he should be paid more. If the woman has greater qualifications then she should be paid more.

I think the need is for women to be treated equal to all other people (men and women) and that this equity you speak of has nothing to do with feminism, but more to do with general equality (for everyone) in a certain task.

I swear some people are dumb as hell to think that feminism started because of women wanting to dominate men. If men didn't dominate women and deny them basic rights at the time, women wouldn't have demanded equality and created feminism in the first place.

There is a -big- difference between "women's equality movement" and "reverse discrimination to the point where men are marginalized to the point where progress is actually going backwards."
We must be careful when we make societal changes not to swing too quickly or too radically. We have to set clear, concise, and balanced goals for all members of our society such that we don't lose sight of another particular group while making "progress".

I work much harder then most males so does that mean I should receive 90 of their wage as well as my own. This question makes little sense. What feminists want is equal pay for equal work. This not only applies to women, but everyone else that may have dealt with an oppresive situation.

Not all jobs are quantifiable in this way. I am the only person at my company who does the type of work I do, so there is no realy way to tell how much I am "producing".

I do think people who do superior work ought to be rewarded financially for it, regardless of their gender. After all, they are enriching the company.

I think women should get the same pay as men if they do their jobs right. If they can't work then they shouldn't work.

Yes, they should be paid more. You (should) get what you earn. However, if you are on an hourly rate, that stinks. But you could ask for a raise in your hourly rate, and your output should definitely be considered.

She should get more if she does more and the same if they do the same thing and work, it should be based on your work and where you rank in the work force.
