Vasectomies are not fail-safe, so the most likely answer is that the chimpanzee was impregnated by a male chimp who had had a vasectomy but was still able to get her pregnant.

Um, duhhhh, vasectomies are NOT ALWAYS 100% effective---that's why the doctor has the man come back and "give samples" a few times, checking for sperm counts...
I"M SO SURE That the zoo went around and checked counts on the chimps....

The big "V" is not always going to be undone properly. I believe that it is a mix up -- remember humans were involved in the process along the way and we are prone to mistakes at times. LOL.

That's not an immaculate conception. The immaculate conception means "being conceived without sin". It's what Christians believe happened to Mary when she was conceived in her mother Anne's womb.
What you're talking about here is a "virgin birth".
