I have like a ton of beanie babies and some of them are in "mint" condition, some don't have tush tags, some don't have hang tags, some are bent. Just wondering if its really worth the trouble to sell some of these off cause I cant really imagine who would be interested in buying.

I've been trying to sell my lot of beanies, and they never sell. The only luck I've ever had is at garage sales. Seems like the kids like 'em. If you have a garage sale, put them in there, reasonably priced.

Well , what happened with beanie Babies is that you had something that people were enjoying the hobby of collecting. Get rich quick people took notice and started buying them up. The collectors were willing to pay the extra money to get them. Ty, the company making them, took notice and made them even harder to find by short shipping them. Eventually Ty killed their market by keeping them away from the customers and the scalper market began charging way too much.

Now that the market has died off, there were lots of the "hard to find" one being held back. Before the market was totally worthless to the scalpers, they moved these toys out on the market. All at one time the market was flooded and died an even harder death than it would have.

Due to this, you will have a hit or miss situation on selling what you have. You can take the advice of going to Ebay, but I really don't think you'll make anything. I'd suggest looking for as many free listings you can find and try to sell all of the ones you want to sell as a group. If you have a local paper that allows cheap listings, you might even try that.

The main thing to remember is that you will not get as much money as you once would have. You might get back some of what you put into them or it's even possible to get back just below what you put in. You will have to settle on not making back the amount you piad however. A lot of people feel that any money is better than none at all. Some are holding them with hopes that some form of popularity comes back. I guess it's possible but not anytime soon.

Beanie Babies became such a popular craze that they sold a ton of them. There are still afew colectors out there hoping that they will appreciate in value~ but in my own personal opinion, they never will. Theres just too many out there! I see them being sold for 10-25 cents a piece at yard sales and estate sales all the time!

If you look on Ebay you'll see that they really don't sell well. Modern collectibles never will, because people became aware of collecting and started keeping stuff. It has to have been kept because it was beloved or it somehow missed being thrown away, not because then owner kept an eye toward profit. Something's only collectible if it's rare.
