I am moving to Singapore. I understand rent pricies vary, but how much should I expect to pay for 1 bedroom apartment in a decent average neighborhood? Can you ballpark it for me? Are we talking hundreds $$$ or thousands? How much are utilities per month? Thanks!

Rent 1 Bed Room apartment (30 mins from city): $800 onwards (price will be higher if closer to town area)

Electricity: $50, without air-con
Gas: $40 (if you cook)
Water: $50
Telephone: min $25 for fixed home line, if your usage is high, might cost around $50
Cable/TV: We have free local programs, for cable is around $20 onwards depending on how many channels you have

hope this helps, cheers

Cost depends allot on location and availability of for example MRT on walking distance. think should be able to rent one room between 500-1000 S$ for average neignorhood which means whole Singapore as their are no "slumps" areas.

Utilities depends if you cook at home and on how frequent your run your aircon, expect around 100-150S$ for 1 room appartment for running aircon only at night in one room.

Simplegal is quite right.

Lowest starts from S$800 at areas that require more travelling time. Those nearer to town center and amenities such as food courts and MRT stations command as much as S$1200-1300

i believe that most hospitals here in singapore do have medical equipment outlets that provide such services. alternatively, I saw a shop at Bukit Merah hawker centre that provide such service too.. the hawker centre is the one at the former HDB centre.. sorry i don't have the name and number of the shop, but it is located at the end of the hawker centre where the popular char kway teow and chicken rice shop.. the end further away from NTUC.
