maybe its that fiction is being influenced by reality. Movies like ET, Close Encounters, predator, the exorcist, the truman show, clementine, even terminator are good examples of 'reality fiction' the story might not have happened like that with those characters an that dialogue might not happened but they are good representations of out there but very much possible ideas

I call that the Simpsons effect. Stuff that ten years ago might have been a joke on the Simpsons is now a reality.
